Pearce Malcolm is a New Zealand sculptor based in Christchurch.
Although largely self-taught, his early exposure to a wide range of artistic mediums through his mother, an artist, sparked a lifelong interest in art and making. Working primarily in stainless steel, bronze and other engineered materials, his practice explores form, movement and the relationship between artwork, light and space.
Drawn to the commanding presence of sculpture, Malcolm creates works designed to engage viewers through changing perspectives, reflections and interaction with their surroundings. His primary goal is simple: to create sculptures that people genuinely enjoy and remember.
His works are held in private collections in New Zealand and internationally.
